المستخلص: Thousands of Palestinians from Gaza headed to the borderline with Israel, demanding their right to return to their towns and cities from where they had been displaced in 1984. Upon an invitation by the Higher Commission for the Return Marches, the activities started on 30 March 2018, which marked the Palestinian Land Day, through daily and weekly events and the Nakba anniversary 15 May 2018. The body claimed leading the Return Marches for all the segments of the Palestinian people as a new type of non-violence resistance and a test to the intentions of all parties, including the international community, with regard to the fair legal and humanitarian cause. According to international provisions, especially Paragraph 11 of UN resolution 194, Palestinian refugees should be permitted to return to their homes at the earliest predictable date. The Gazan Return Marches represented a powerful reaction to the pledges made by President Trump within the Deal of the Century, also protesting at the moving of the US Embassy from Tel Aviv to Occupied Jerusalem as the capital of Israel. Although the public demonstrations were peaceful and unarmed as intended, they were confronted by violence and live ammunition by the Israeli Military. As a result, until 30 May, 118 Palestinians were killed and 13,300 injured and chocked, including 330 serious cases. The report refers to the Palestinian, Israeli, Arab and regional reactions to the activities and the Israeli bloody treatment of the unarmed participants in the period 30 March-30 May. The above interaction intensified upon the Israeli violence. More importantly, there was consensus among the Palestinian factions to support the Return Marches, stressing the Palestinians’ right to demonstrate and demand their lawful rights, mainly that of return.
