تناولت الدراسة التاكسونومي Taxonomyكإحدى طرق تنظيم المعلومات على الإنترنت، وقد تطرقت في معالجتها هنا إلى تناول التاكسونومي من حيث المفهوم، والوظائف، والمكونات، وهذا هو الجانب النظري من الدراسة. أما الجانب التطبيقي فقد تمثل في اختيار عدد من الجامعات في مصر سواء الحكومية أو الأهلية أو الخاصة بهدف دراسة تطبيقات التاكسونومي في المواقع الإلكترونية لتلك الجامعات التي تم اختيارها، وتأثير ذلك على الاسترجاع للمعلومات بها من حيث طرق الاسترجاع، ودقة الاسترجاع واحتياجات مستخدمي تلك المواقع. وقد تم في هذه الدراسة الاستعانة بكل من المنهج المسحي، والمنهج الوصفي التحليلي واستخدام كل من قائمة المراجعة والفحص المباشر للمواقع قيد الدراسة كأدوات لجمع البيانات. ودراسة التاكسونومي تتطلب دراسة البنية التصنيفية لكل موقع إلكترونى من المواقع المدروسة، والتى تنعكس في أمرين هما: خريطة الموقع التي تبين البنية التصنيفية لمحتوى الموقع بشكل كلى، وأيضا نظام الملاحة الذي يبين البنية التصنيفية ولكن موزعة على الصفحة الرئيسية للموقع، وكذلك باقي صفحات الموقع. وبالإضافة إلى كل هذا تم تناول أنظمة البحث بالمواقع الإلكترونية قيد الدراسة باعتبارها داعمة مع التاكسونومي في استرجاع محتويات المواقع.
The study dealt with Taxonomy As one of the ways of organizing information on the Internet, it addressed taxonomy in concept, Jobs, components, and this is the theoretical aspect of the study. The Applied side was represented in selecting number of universities in Egypt، whether governmental or civil or private to study the applications of taxonomy in the websites of the universities that have been selected And the impact on the retrieval of information in them in terms of retrieval methods, accuracy and retrieval needs of users of these sites Egyptian universities. It was in this study the use of each of the survey method, and the descriptive analytical method and the use of each of the checklist and direct examination of the sites understudy as tools for data collection. The the study of taxonomy requires examination of the classification structure of each Web site of the studied sites, which are reflected in two things: the website map, which structure taxonomic shown to site content in the wholly, as well as the navigation system, which shows the classification structure of the site, but distributed on the home page of it, as well as the rest of the site pages. In addition to all this it has been touched on the Search Systems of the sites understudy as supportive with taxonomy in retrieving the contents of the sites.
