520 |b The issue of writing African literature in local languages has been controversial, and often discussed by African writers. This study deals with this issue from different perspective. Some writers, according to the study, support the use of local languages while others prefer foreign languages such as English or French. The study concludes that the use of foreign languages make African literature known to the world but at the expense of local languages. The study also agree that local languages in Africa have not been able to compete with foreign languages because of the difficulty of uniting Africa under one languages. In addition, Africa is lagging behind in politics, economics, development, stability and other fields including languages. Literature in Africa has been written in various foreign languages, and local as English and French and local as Swahili, Yoruba and Amharic. Most African writers pertinence to linguistic groups and different countries do not write in these languages, But we see them writing in foreign language, And specifically the colonial language that was in the country as well as They adopt these European languages intellectually in writing And in various cultural activities This raises an important issue of how these writers continue to communicate with their audience. It is mostly this Readers It spreads ignorance and illiteracy the researcher tries to discuss this issue. The African writers have asked many questions; why do Africans write in non-African languages? Whose, we write, and how we can communicate our voices and intellectual issues, does writing in non-African languages have an impact on African literature? These questions were asked in Different Languages We strive and discuss to focus on them.
