يهدف البحث إلى إبراز أهمية وأثر السياق في بيان دلالة الألفاظ، وبخاصة في النص القرآني، للإفادة منه في تأويل الآيات الكريمة واكتناز علومها، وتبيان دلالات ألفاظها، ولتوضيح قوة وأثر السياق في فحوى الكلام على وجه العموم، مستفيدا بذلك من كتب علم الدلالة ومستندا إلى أمات التفاسير ومعاجم اللغة العربية، مستخدما المنهج الوصفي التحليلي بوساطة نظرية السياق على وجه الخصوص، جامعا أطراف النص بمحتوياته اللغوية كافة. فتوصل البحث إلى جملة من النتائج المهمة، ومنها الإفادة من تعدد دلالة لفظ الناس في القرآن الكريم، لشمولها معان أوسع وتكرارها وربما اختلاف دلالاتها في النص الواحد، وهذا ما ميز البحث ليكتمل التحليل من خلال السياق دلالة ووصفا.
