المستخلص: تناولت السطور توضيحا للمحكات والمعايير التشخيصية الجديدة التي أوردتها الطبعة الخامسة من الدليل الإحصائي والتشخيصي (DSM,V) والتي اشترطت أن تكون عملية التشخيص عملية متعددة المستويات وتتضمن التأكد أولا من انطباق جملة الأعراض السلوكية المميزة للاضطراب في بعد التواصل الاجتماعي والتفاعل الاجتماعي وبعد السلوكيات النمطية و الاهتمامات الضيقة، ومن ثم تحديد مدى وجود اضطرابات متقاطعة مع الاضطراب بالرجوع إلى معايير تشخيص كل اضطراب متقاطع وفقا لما تم تحديده في الدليل، وأخيراً تحديد مدى شدة الأعراض وتأثيرها على أداء الطفل ومدى الحاجة إلى مستوى الدعم المراد تقديمه. ولعل هذه المحكات لازالت قيد البحث في الميدان رغم إقرارها من قبل جمعية أطباء النفس العياديين الأمريكية (APA) حيث لازالت هذه المحكات قيد جدل بين العلماء في الميدان بغية الوصول إلى اتفاق مستقبلي حول مدى فاعليتها العملية في عملية التشخيص.

The written piece dealt with an explanation for the new diagnostic criteria and standards mentioned in the 5th edition of the “Statistical and Diagnostic Manual” (DSM, V), which stipulated that the diagnostic process be a multi-level process. And include, firstly, the confirmation of the applicability of a host of distinct behavioral symptoms of disorders in relation to the social communication and social interaction dimension, in addition to the typical behaviors and narrow interests dimension. That was followed by determining the extent of the presence of intersecting disorders for the disorder in relation to the social communication and social interaction dimension, by referring to the diagnostic standards for each intersecting disorder, according to what had been determined in the manual. And finally, to determine the extent of the severity of the symptoms and their impact upon the child’s performance and the extent of his need for the level of assistance intended to be provided to him. These testing criteria may still be under research within the field despite having been approved by the American Clinical Psychologists Association (APA). That is because the criteria are still being debated by scientists in the field, in order to reach a future agreement concerning the extent of its practical effectiveness in the diagnostic process.
