تعد الوسطية من أبرز خصائص هذا الدين القويم، دين الإسلام، دين الرحمة والوسط ويعبر عنها أيضا ب (التوازن والاعتدال) والتوازن معناه أن يفسح المجال لكل طرف منها مجاله وحقه بالقسط بلا غلو ولا تقصير ولا إفراط، فالإنسان مهما تقدم به الزمان فهو عاجز عن إنشاء نظام متوازن، وهذه حقيقته أكثر بكثير من أن يقدر عليه الإنسان، بفعله المحدود وعلمه القاصر، فهنالك الكثير من المؤثرات التي تؤثر عليه سواء كانت ميوله أم نزاعاته الشخصية أم الأسرية أم الفكرية أم السياسية أم الاجتماعية أم الاقتصادية. لقد ثبت أن الاختلاف والتنوع واقع كوني وإرادة إلهية يستحيل إلغاؤه، والتعدد ضرورة اجتماعية, والمواطنة حق إنساني علينا أن نتعامل مع هذا الواقع بوعي يحقق الوحدة في ظل التنوع والتكامل مع التعدد والتعاون في القواسم المشتركة، فكان هذا السبب الرئيس والأساس في اختياري لهذا الموضوع والموسوم (مظاهر وسطية الإسلام واثرها في التعايش السلمي)، إذ إن الناس في عصرنا أحوج ما يكونون إلى الوسطية والاعتدال والى التيسير عليهم والرفق بهم وعدم التشديد والتعصب؛ فالمسلمين في حاجة للعودة إلى الإسلام الأول قبل أن تشوبه تضييق المتشددين، وتحريف المغاليين، وتأويل الجاهلين. قسمت عملي في دراسة الموضوع وتحقيقه على مقدمة ومبحثين وخاتمة. المبحث الاول: حقيقة الوسطية في الإسلام المبحث. المبحث الثاني: مظاهر الوسطية في الإسلام وأثرها في التعايش السلمي. ثم الخاتمة.
