أن اختيار فرع الدراسة في مرحلة الرابع الإعدادي يتأثر بعدة مؤشرات منها مقاسه كدرجات الطالب في الصف الثالث المتوسط ومنها مؤشرات غير مقاسه تتعلق برغبة الأهل ورغبة الطالب نفسه والظروف التي يعيشها الطالب. وقد يكون لتطبيقات علم الإحصاء في الحياة العملية دور بارز في وضع الحلول وتحديد العوامل المؤثرة في ظاهرة دون أخرى. ويعتبر أسلوب التحليل المميز أحد الوسائل المهمة المستخدمة في عملية التميز لمجموعات معينة تقع تحت الدراسة. وقد ارتأينا استخدام هذا الأسلوب لتصنيف الطلبة الناجحين من المرحلة المتوسطة إلى الفرعين العلمي والأدبي في الصف الرابع الإعدادي سيما وأنها تجربة جديدة لتقسيم الطلبة بعد أن كانوا يقسمون بعد مرحلة الرابع الإعدادي. حيث تم أخذ عينة حجمها (50) مفردة كعينة عشوائية استطلاعية وقد تم توزيع العينة على طلبة المرحلة الإعدادية في مدارس منطقة جميلة في جانب الرصافة من بغداد مقسمة إلى 25 مفردة من الفرع العلمي و25 مفردة من الفرع الأدبي. وتم التوصل إلى إن أهم الدروس التي نعتمد عليها في تصنيف الطلبة إلى الفرع العلمي والأدبي هي اللغتين العربية والإنكليزية والفيزياء والرياضيات والتاريخ والجغرافية ومادة الحاسوب ورغبة الأهل وهي نسبة عالية. ومما تقدم توصي الباحثتان بتوزيع استمارة استبيان للطلبة المتقدمين للدراسة الاعتيادية لمعرفة رغبتهم ورغبة الأهل في اختيار الفرع المطلوب

We decided to use this method for the classification of students passing from the intermediate stage to the scientific and literary branches in the fourth grade preparatory particular it is a new experience to divide the students after they swear after the fourth stage of the preparatory. Where the sample size was taken (50), Single random sample reconnaissance sample was distributed to middle school students in a beautiful area schools in Rusafa of Baghdad divided into 25 single from the scientific section and 25 single literary section. It was found that the most important lessons that we rely on to classify students as the scientific and literary branch is Arabic and English, physics, mathematics, history, geography and computer material and the desire of parents is a high percentage. It provides researchers recommends the distribution of a questionnaire for students applying to study normal to see their desire and the desire of parents to choose the desired section.
