This study aimed at determining the Palestinian tourist police needs English language, English language functions needed and problems they encounter in workplace. The sample of the study consisted of 46 tourist police who serve in different workplaces the researcher used a questionnaire to collect data. Findings revealed that speaking and listening skills are the most important then comes reading and writing. Concerning the functions of English language that they need in using English language results indicated that general conversation, then answering questions and solving problems followed by providing services were the most important functions. Findings also showed that speaking too fast in English by foreign tourists is the most serious problem for Palestinian tourist police, using inappropriate words and expressions in speaking, vocabulary shortage and lacking the grammar knowledge for writing. Data analysis showed that tourist police encounter problems in English language skills especially listening, conversation and reading respectively. Recommendations and pedagogical implications were suggested.
