هدف البحث تعرف متطلبات الثقافة العلمية الواجب تضمينها في كتاب العلوم المطور للصف الثالث المتوسط، والتعرف على مدى توفر مطالب الثقافة العلمية في كتاب العلوم المطور للصف الثالث متوسط، وقد استخدمت الباحثة المنهج الوصفي التحليلي، حيث قامت بتحليل كتاب العلوم المطور للصف الثالث المتوسط (بجزأيه) طبعة عام 2341 ه (عينة البحث)، واستخدمت الباحثة أداة تحليل تم تطويرها لتتماشى مع أهداف البحث تضمنت أربعة مطالب للثقافة العلمية صُنف تحتها (51) معيار، وأظهرت نتائج البحث أن هناك خللاً في الموازنة بين مطالب الثقافة العلمية في محتوى كتاب العلوم المطور للصف الثالث المتوسط بالمملكة العربية السعودية، بالإضافة إلى تدنٍ في تمثيل بعض هذه المطالب في المحتوى حيث بلغت نسبة تضمين متطلب المعرفة العلمية الأساسية (66,16%)، ومتطلب عمليات العلم وممارستها في حل المشكلات بنسبة (29,41%)، ومتطلب البيئة وكيفية التعامل معها بنسبة (2,26 %)، وأخيراً متطلب قضايا التفاعل بين العلم والتكنولوجيا والمجتمع بنسبة (2,17 %). وفي ضوء هذه النتائج يوصي البحث بضرورة الحرص على الموازنة بين مطالب الثقافة العلمية في محتوى كتاب العلوم المطور للصف الثالث المتوسط، وتضمين القضايا المندرجة تحت هذه المطالب والتي لم تحظَ بأي معالجة في المحتوى، والتركيز على زيادة الموضوعات المرتبطة بالبيئة.
The research aims to identify the scientific culture demands he demands which should be included in the developed science book of the third intermediate grade, and to learn about the availability of the scientific culture demands in the developed science book of the third intermediate grade. The researcher used the descriptive analytical approach, where she analyzed the developed science book of the third intermediate grade (both Volumes) edition in 1432 (research sample), and the researcher used the analytical tool that has been developed to comply with the objectives of the research. It included the four requirements of the scientific culture. Fifty one (51) criteria were classified under it. The results shows that there is a defect in the balance between the demands of the scientific culture in the content of the developed science book of the third intermediate grade book in Saudi Arabia in addition to a decline in the representation of some of these demands in the content where the percentage of the included basic scientific knowledge requirement is (66.16%) , the requirement of science and practice in solving problems is (29.41%) ,the requirement of the environment and how to deal with it is (2.26%) and finally, the requirement the issues of interaction between science, technology and society is (2.17%). In light of these results, the research recommends the need to ensure a balance between the demands of the scientific culture in the content of the developed science book of the third intermediate grade book and to include issues falling under these demands, which did not receive any addressing in the content, and to focus on increasing the topics related to the environment
