|b Khwāja Shams-ud-Dīn Muhammad Hāfez-e Shīrāzī, was born in 8th century. His poetry brought him worldwide fame and gained the attention of researchers across the globe. Arab scholars likewise showed special interest to Hafez’s poetry and studied and translated his poems. The number of these translations has now reached to 25. These translations made Hafez the third most famous Persian poet in the Arab world, following Sa’adi and Khayam. Ibrahim Shawaribi and Ali Aba’as Zalikha are known to be the first and last translators of Hafez’s poems, respectively.
