This study shows the relationship between ancient poetry and magic and prognostication in literary eras that proceeded the age of Knowledge. Its significance lies in that it reveals aspects of the ideology and beliefs of the old Arab man which is part of the ancient and modern thought of Arab man. In addition this subject is not taken seriously before as specialized study. All previous studies have been limited to theories in the old books. The study followed an integrative approach (inductive, descriptive, mythic, criticized ...etc.) to find out the similarities and relationships between poets, cassocks and sorcerers in that era, through Quranic verses, Poetry texts and narrated stories, which proved in Known scientific books and historical sources. The study explores the presence of considerable aspects of similarity between them in their characteristics and their natures and their participation in the tasks and the roles they perform in the community, with the same rituals, rites and practices and the same fountains and sources of revelation and inspiration. The study proved the strength of the relationship between poetry and Prognostication and magic in a stage of old ones. More evidence of synchronism of Poetry, Magic and Prognostication is described in the Quran in several places.
تناولت هذه الدراسة علاقة الشعر العربي القديم بالكهانة والسحر في العصور الأدبية التي سبقت عصر العلم، وتكمن أهميتها في أنها تكشف جوانب من فكر ومعتقدات الإنسان العربي القديم الذي يعد جزءا من فكر الإنسان العربي القديم والحديث معا، هذا بالإضافة إلى أن الموضوع إضافة إلى غرابته وجدته لم ينل حظا وافرا من الدراسة المتخصصة، فقد اقتصرت الدراسات السابقة على نظريات مبعثرة في ثنايا الكتب القديمة. واتبعت الدراسة المنهج التكاملي (استقرائي وصفي وأسطوري ونقدي) للوقوف على أوجه الشبه والعلائق التي تربط بين الشعراء والكهان والسحرة في تلك الحقبة، من خلال الآيات القرآنية والنصوص الشعرية والقصص المروية، التي ثبتت في الكتب العلمية والمصادر التاريخية المعروفة. وتوصلت الدراسة إلى وجود شبه كبير بينهم في الصفات والطبائع، واشتراكهم في المهام والأدوار التي يؤدونها في المجتمع، بالطقوس والشعائر والممارسات نفسها، بالإضافة إلى وحدة مصادر ومنابع الوحي والإلهام عندهم. وأثبتت الدراسة ارتباط لشعر الوثيق بالكهانة والسحر في مرحلة من المراحل القديمة. وليس أدل على ذلك من اقتران الشعر بالسحر والكهانة في مواضع عدة في القرآن الكريم.
