يسعى البحث إلى استشراف آفاق صناعة المصطلح الحديثي، ورصد مسارات الابتكار فيه، ومنهجه، وضوابطه، ومراحله، وعوائقه، وينبه إلى أهمية البحث المصطلحي الذي يتوخى المنهجية المصطلحية من خلال دراسة المصطلحات، والتطور التاريخي الذي طرأ على معانيها، وتطبيقاتها، وعلاقتها، وقضاياها في منظومة المفاهيم الحديثية. ويؤكد على أهمية التوافق بين المتخصصين على استعمال المصطلحات المبتكرة للتعبير عن المفاهيم والقصايا الحديثية، ويوصي بمراعاة عدم تعدد المفاهيم والدلالات لهذه لمصطلحات المبتكرة، والابتعاد عن الألفاظ المشركة، منعاً للالتباس. ويدعو إلى تشجيع الابتكار المصطلحي بضوابطه، وبما لا يخرج عن منهج المحدثين، ولا يتعارض مع قوانينهم المستقرة، ولا شك أن هذا مما يدل على حيوية هذا العلم، وقابليته للتجديد والإضافة. ويقترح أن تقوم الأقسام العلمية والمراكز البحثية المتخصصة في السنة باختيار مركز للتنسيق بينها فيما يتعلق باعتماد المصطلحات المبتكرة وتوحيدها في البحوث والرسائل الأكاديمية؛ بما يؤدي إلى اختصار الجهد والوقت، ويعالج اختلاف هذه المصطلحات، ويكون من مهامه: التواصل مع الأقسام العلمية والمراكز البحثية المتخصصة في السنة لتبادل المصطلحات، وإقرارها، وتوثيق الجهة التي أصدرت المصطلح، وتاريخ إصداره، والسعي إلى بناء منظومة مصطلحية تنتظم جميع المفاهيم الحديثية.
