إن الناظر في العلاقات المصرية الجزائرية يجدها ترتقي إلى مستوى كبير من التواصل، إذ كانت مصر ذات صلة وثيقة بكل ما يحدث في الجزائر؛ إذ كانت الروابط والقيم تجمع بين الشعبين وتعتبر مصر الداعم الأول والأخير لها، وما قصرت في مد يد العون إلى الثوار الجزائريين بكل ما أوتيت من قوة في المحافل الدولية؛ لتخرج الجزائر من دائرة الصمت المضروب عليها منذ عام 1830م. وحققت بذلك نجاحات باهرة على الصعيد السياسي والدبلوماسي وخاصة في حركة عدم الانحياز وهيئة الأمم المتحدة، تسبب دعم مصر للثورة الجزائرية بالعديد من المشاكل منها من فرنسا وأحلافها منها العدوان الثلاثي، وذلك راجع لمساندتها للثورة الجزائرية وبالرغم من ذلك فأن مصر لم تبال بالعراقيل والمآزق التي قد تتعرض لها وواصلت جهودها دعمه للقضية الجزائرية، ولم يثن عزمها ولو للحظة حتى انحلي ليل الاستعمار واستقلت الجزائر في 5 يوليو 1962م، وهذا المقال للتذكير بعوامل المشتركة بين الشعبين التي تتمثل في الدين والتاريخ والمصير المشترك، واعتمدت على المنهج التحليلي الاستقرائي من خطابات المسؤولين والسياسيين وتوصلت إلى أن لمصر فصل كبير على أهل الجزائر إذ كانت السبب في استقلالها.
