|a تناولت هذه الدراسة جانب مهم من الحياة الاقتصادية في المدينة المنورة، وهو الجانب الزراعي من خلال كتابات الجغرافيين والرحالة في الفترة من القرن الرابع الهجري وحتى القرن العاشر الهجري. وتأتي أهمية هذه الدراسة من خلال تسليطها الضوء على نوع جديد من المصادر، وجمع الإشارات الواردة خلال تلك المصادر حول المدينة في مجال الزراعة، ونقدها، وتحليلها، لتوضيح الأحوال الزراعية في المدينة المنورة وتطورها خلال فترة البحث. وقد ركزت الدراسة على موقع المدينة وتحديده عند الجغرافيين، كما ناقشت أبرز المصادر المائية في المدينة وأبرز المزروعات التي اشتهرت بها المدينة وأماكن زراعتها، وأظهرت الدراسة تطور زراعة المدينة والعوامل التي اثرت في التطور كما ذكرتها المصادر الجغرافية والرحلية. ومن أبرز النتائج التي توصلت إليها الدراسة أنها بينت أهمية النصوص الجغرافية والرحلية في توضيح صورة الأحوال الاقتصادية عامة والزراعية خاصة خلال فترة البحث، وأظهرت الدراسة تطور الأحوال الزراعية في المدينة المنورة وخاصة زراعة النخيل التي لعبت دورا مهما في حياة أهل المدينة، وبينت الدراسة دور العوامل السياسية والكوارث الطبيعية في التأثير السلبي على زراعة المدينة خلال بعض فترات الدراسة.

|b Agriculture in Madinah through the writings of the Muslim pilgrims and geographers in the period (fourth century AH - 10th century AH) Jamil Mahmoud Bani Salama This study dealt with an important feature of economic life in Medina, that is the agricultural aspect in the light of writings of geographers and travelers in the period from the fourth century AH until the tenth century AH The importance of this study lies inusing a new type of sources, then collecting the allusionsappeared in these sources about the city concerning agriculture, and create a critical analysis to clarify the agricultural conditions in Medina and their development during the research period. The study focused on the location of the city and its determinationin geographical writiings. It also discussed the most important water sources in the city as well as the most prominent plantations of which the city was famous for, and their places of cultivation. The study showed the development of the city's agriculture and the factors that influenced this development as mentioned by geographic and itinerant sources. The study showed the importance of geographical and itinerant texts in clarifying the picture of economic conditions in general and agriculture especially during the research period. The study showed the development of agricultural conditions in Madinah, especially palm cultivation, which played an important role in the lives of the city's people. The studay also showed the negative imapct of political factors and natural disasters on the cultivation of the city during the same period of study .
