المستخلص: Results 1- The study refers to the increase in the size of the labour force (15 years and over) 24.3 million in 2007, 29.5 million people in 2017. 2- The percentage of workers in the total labour force declined from 91.2% in 2007 to 88.2% in 2017. 3- The unemployment rates fell from 13.2% in 2013 to 11.8% of the total labour force in 2017. 4- The percentage of those with a medium-level vocational qualification among the labour force between the years 2007,2010,2013 and 2017 reached 30.8% in 2007 and increased to 33% in 2017. 5- The illiteracy rate among the labour force is 33.5% compared with 27.4% in 2007, while the ratio approached among males and females in 2017 reached 18% for males, 18.7% among illiterate females. 6- The highest percentage of the labour force among workers with cash wages was 53.2% in 2007 and increased to 60% in 2017. 7- The lowest percentage of the labour force in 2017 was found among those working in the family without wage by 7.7%. 8- The highest rates of employment according to the age and sex categories in 2007 and 2017 was (63.1% and 58.1%) respectively in the age group (40 – 49 years). 9- The highest operating rate in accordance with the educational status and gender in 2007 was among those qualified university or higher 63.5% and the rate decreased to 60.0% in 2017 in the same qualification. 10- The highest employment rate according to geographical regions and gender in rural border governorates was 54.8% in 2007, while the same employment rates decreased to 40.4% in 2017. 11- The rate of contribution to economic activity reached about 48% in 2007 and increased to 49.3% in 2010, then decreased to 45% in 2017. 12- The highest rates of contribution to economic activity according to age and sex categories were for the age group (40-49 years) by 63.5% in 2007 (97.5% for males and 30.8% for females) and in the same category decreased to 59.4% in 2017. 13- The highest contribution rates in economic activity, according to the educational status and gender in general were among the holders of qualified university or higher, during the study period. 14- The border governorates were one of the highest in the region, contributing to economic activity according to geographical regions and gender, whether in rural or urban areas. The percentage of contribution in rural areas reached 58.6% in 2007 compared to 45.3% in 2017, while the highest contribution rate was 49.2%. 15- The unemployment rate Increased from 8.9% in 2007 to 11.8% in 2017 16- The age dependency ratio increased from 111% in 2007 to 123% in 2017 17- The economic dependency ratio increased from 207% in 2007 to 223% in 2017
