المستخلص: تأتي دراسة بنية الزمن في رواية (وسام الشرف) للروائي اليمني محمد مثنى، استكمالا لدراسة سابقة تناول فيها الباحث بنية المكان في الرواية نفسها، بغية الوقوف على البنية الفنية للرواية من خلال عنصري الزمن والمكان، اللذين عادة ما يرتبط حضور أحدهما بحضور الآخر، الأمر الذي سوغ لباحثين دراستهما — أحيانا -تحت مصطلح واحد، هو الزمكان Chronotope. إلا أن الفصل بينهما في دراسة رواية (وسام الشرف) كان الغرض منه استقصاء كل عنصر في الرواية على حدة.

The study of the structure of time in the novel ’’Medal of Honor” by the Yemeni novelist Muhammad Muthanna, complementing a previous study in which the researcher discussed the structure of the space in the same novel, in order to identify the technical structure of the novel through the elements of time and space, which are linked - sometimes - under one term, space-time (chronotope). However, the separation between them in two studies of the novel (Medal of Honor) was intended to investigate each element in the novel separately.This study followed the structural approach and based on structural formalism, which is concerned with studying the technical elements in the narrative text, away from everything that goes beyond the text. Moreover, following what Gerard Genette has said in his approach, the researcher took a procedural approach to the study of time in the novel ’’Medal of Honor”, taking into account what the specificity of the structure of time in the novel - the subject of the criticism approach - sometimes leaves out from this procedural framework.
