المستخلص: This study aims to shed light on the contributions of elites to cultural life during the colonial era through the lines of the book "Vicissitudes in the History of the Desert" and its other Ibrahim ibn Muhammad al-Sassi ibn Amer, alias al-Amur (d. 1932). That is by answering several questions, which we summarize as follows: What is the reason for writing this book? What is the method used by the author in writing this book? What are the most important sources that the author relied on in completing his book?

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تسليط الضوء على إسهامات النخب في الحياة الثقافية خلال العهد الاستعماري من خلال مخطوط الصروف في تاريخ الصحراء وسوف لمؤلفه إبراهيم بن محمد الساسي بن عامر الملقب بالعوامر (ت 1932م)، وذلك من خلال الإجابة على جملة من التساؤلات، والتي نجملها في الآتي:
ما هو سبب تأليف هذا الكتاب؟ وما هو المنهج والأسلوب الذي سلكه المؤلف في تأليفه هذا؟ وما هي أهم المصادر التي اعتمد عليها المؤلف في إنجاز كتابه؟


Cette étude vise à mettre en évidence les contributions des élites dans la vie culturelle de l'époque coloniale à travers le manuscrit "Alsorouf fi tarikh sahara wa souf " qui écrit par Ibrahim ben Muhammad al-Sasi al-'Awamir (m. 1932) et qui en répondant à un certain nombre de questions, qui sont résumées dans ce qui suit:
Quelle est la raison d'écrire ce livre? Quelle est l'approche adoptée par la manière dont l'auteur a écrit cela? Quelles sont les sources les plus importantes invoqués par l'auteur dans la réalisation de son livre?
