المستخلص: )في وجدان القرية( رواية كتبها عبد الرحمن العشماوي، صدرت طبعتها الأولى عن مكتبة العبيكان عام 2002 م. وبحسب متابعتي إلى وقت كتابة هذا البحث، هي الرواية الوحيدة للعشماوي، في مقابل ثروة وشعرية كبيرة قوامها دواوين جنّدت -في الغالب الأعم- لخدمة قضايا الأمة الإسلامية، وقضايا المجتمع المسلم. وقد كشفت دراسة هذه الرواية عن أن العشماوي كان فيها أيضًا أديب القيم والمبادئ، ذلك أنها رواية من روايات السيرة الذاتية التي تقدم -عادةً- رسالةً إلى من يقرؤها، فكانت رسالتها هنا دعوة للالتزام الديني والانضباط الاجتماعي، تدعمها أسباب التهذيب والإصلاح بالوعظ والتوجه، وبتقديم نماذج من الشخصيات تمثل الخير وتدعو إليه، وأخرى تمثل الضلال ويتم التعامل مع ضلالاتها والتنفير منها.
والرواية وهي تحمل هذه الرسالة اجتهدت في تقديمها في قالب مقبول، فإضافة إلى صياغتها في رواية سيرة ذاتية، وهو قالب قصصي -يبوح ببعض الأسرار- محبب، اختارت القرية -ببساطتها ونقائها الذي يجذب كثيرا من الأنفس- لتحرك فيها الشخصيات والأحداث، ثم رسمت شخصياتها في صورة تجعلها مألوفة مقربة، لا تعقيد في فكرها، ولا نشوز عن الدور المطلوب منها، وكان الكاتب -رغم اللغة الفصحى التي تسير عموم الرواية- في بعض الأحيان يجري على ألسنتها ما يمثل لغة المكان الذي تنتمي إليه، ويحركها في بيئة تناسبها وتنمُّ عن هويِّتها، فتزداد ألفةً وواقعيةً. كما لم تغب شاعرية العشماوي عن رواية سيرته، فجاءت لغتها شعريةً محلقةً في بعض المواضع.
والروائي الذي اختار موقع الراوي الخارجي في رواية سيرته، لم يغادر هذا الموقع رغم وجود ما يأذن له بالمغادرة، وظل يحكيها من الخلف، حفاظا على اتفاق نسق السرد في كل الرواية، واتقاءً لمحاسبة الجمهور له على ما يورده من وقائع، هي في الحقيقة بعض وقائع سيرة حياته الخاصة.
ورغم عدّي تجربة العشماوي الروائية تجربة مقبولة، فإنه لابد من الإشارة إلى أن ثمة هنات كانت الرواية لتكون أجمل وأحكم فنيا لو تجنبتها، فتأثر الرواية بطبيعتها (التوثيقية)، وهدفها التربوي، جاء بالشخصيات مسطّحة لا تخرج عن التوقع، وبالصراع خافتًا لا يشوّق، وبالأسلوب وعظيا يميل للاستطراد ويغلب عليه الإسهاب.

(At The Heart Of The Village) A novel written by Abderrahman Achmawi , its first edition was issued by the Obeikan Library in 2002 AD. According to my follow-up to the time of writing this research, it is the only novel of Achmawi, in exchange for a great wealth and poetry composed of Diwans recruited - mostly - to serve the issues of the Islamic nation and the cases of the Muslim society. The study of this novel revealed that Achmawi was also a writer of values and principles, as it is a novel of biography, which usually provides a message to the readers, its message here was a call for religious commitment and social discipline, supported by reasons of refinement and reform by preaching and guidance by presenting models of personalities representing and calling for good, and others representing misguidance addressing their delusions and repulsing them.
This novel carries this message struggling to present it in an inverted mode, it is written in an autobiographical novel, a non-fictional template that reveals some secrets, lovely, the village chose its simplicity and purity, that attracts a lot of souls, to move characters and events. Then it drew its characters in an image making it familiar and usual without complexity in its thought or deviation from the desired role. The author - despite the classical language that dominates most of the novel – he sometimes uses the language of the village representing the language to which the place belongs moving it in a suitable environment that reflects its identity, increasing its intimacy and reality. The poeticism of Achmawi was apparent in narrating his biography .
The novelist who chose the place of the external narrator in his biography, did not leave this place despite the existence of permission to leave, and kept telling it from behind, in order to maintain the agreement of the narrative format in all the novel, and to avoid public accountability for the facts reported, which are in fact some realities of the biography of his own life.
Although Achmawi's narrative experience is acceptable, it should be noted that it should not include some weak points to make it more beautiful and tight artistically. As the novel is affected by its nature (documentary) and its educational purpose, the characters were superficial and expected, the conflict was weak and not fascinating and the method was preaching tending to digression dominated by elaboration.
