تناول البحث الحالي (الحياة والموت وتمثلاتها في الفن العراقي المعاصر)، انطلاقا من فكرة مفادها، لعبة الحياة والموت اليومية في العراق والتي جسدها الفنان العراقي من خلال رموز فنية تجسد الواقع الراهن متجذرة من الفكر الرافديني الأصيل ومرورا بالفكر الفلسفي ودراسات علم النفس وفقا لطروحاتهم المختلفة والجانب العقائدي والديني، وتلخيص كل هذه المحاور لمفاهيم فكرية وقيم تشكيلية كان لها دور فاعل في الفن العراقي المعاصر وهو موضوع البحث الحالي حيث كان لمفهومي الحياة والموت خصوصية يومية في حياة الشعب العراقي لما مر به هذا الشعب من جملة من الظروف إلى أحيطت به والتي شملت ظروف سياسية كان لها اثر واضح في اندلاع العديد من الحروب التي نشبت بينه وبين مختلف الدول والتي أدت إلى تدهور الظروف الأخرى كالظروف الاقتصادية والاجتماعية والدينية. أحتوى البحث على أربعة فصول: تضمن الأول (منهجية البحث) عرضا لمشكلة البحث والمحددة بالتساؤل الاتي: ما هي تمثلات الحياة والموت في الفن العراقي المعاصر ؟ فضلا عن عرض أهمية البحث والحاجة إليه. أما هدف الدراسة فيكمن في: تعرف الحياة والموت وتمثلاتها في الفن العراقي المعاصر. الفصل الثاني (الإطار النظري)، تضمن ثلاثة مباحث، المبحث الأول: الحياة والموت من وجهة نظر فلسفية وعند علماء النفس، المبحث الثاني: الحياة والموت تاريخيا في فكر العراق، المبحث الثالث: الحياة والموت في الفن المعاصر. أما الفصل الثالث (إجراءات البحث) تناول مجتمع البحث وقد اشتمل على (40) عملا فنيا، أما عينة الدراسة فتكونت من (4) أعمال. واعتمدت الباحثتان أسلوب تحليل المحتوى منهجا لبحثهما. أما الفصل الرابع تناول النتائج والاستنتاجات التي خلص إليها البحث، فضلا عن التوصيات والمقترحات.

The second chapter included (the theoretical framework), contains two topics, the first topic: Life and death from the philosophical point of view and psychologists, the second topic: Life and death historically in the thought of Iraq, the third topic: life and death in contemporary art. The third chapter included the research procedures that dealt with the research community. It included (40) works of art, and the study sample consisted of (4) works.
