|a شهد العقد الأخير ازدياد معدلات التطرف والعنف داخل المجتمع المصري بصفة عامة وداخل المدارس بصفة خاصة. ومع تزايد معدلات التطرف، تصاعدت الدعوات المطالبة بتنفيذ مبادرات لنشر التسامح وتعزيز الأمان وتقليل معدلات السلوك العنيف داخل المدارس. وطالب التربويون وعلماء الاجتماع بإصلاح المناخ المدرسي، وجعل البيئة المدرسية أكثر أمانا، وبتعزيز دور الإدارة المدرسية في نشر التسامح ومكافحة التطرف. ومن ثم، تصبح صياغة آليات لنشر التسامح في المدارس المصرية واحدة من أهم أولويات السياسات التعليمية. وقد تناول هذا البحث الأدوار المختلفة التي تلعبها الإدارة المدرسية في نشر التسامح في الدول المتقدمة، وآليات نشر التسامح ومكافحة التطرف في المدارس المصرية. وانتهي البحث بعدد من التوصيات الهادفة إلى تشجيع مساهمة مديري المدارس في نشر التسامح.

|b The last decade has witnessed a high surge in the ratios of extremism and violence inside the Egyptian society in general and Egyptian schools in particular. With the escalating ratios of religious extremism, the societal calls for implementing reforms aimed at spreading tolerance, stressing safety, and reducing violent behavior inside schools. In the light of these circumstances, educationalists and sociologists have called for improving the school climate, making the school environment more secure, and strengthening the roles played by school principals in enforcing tolerance and fighting fundamentalism. Thus, formulating mechanisms for spreading tolerance inside the Egyptian schools has become one of the most pressing priorities of educational policies. This piece of research has tackled the different roles played by school principals in enforcing tolerance in the advanced Western countries, and the mechanisms of strengthening tolerance and combating extremism inside Egyptian educational institutions. Finally, the piece of research was concluded with a number of recommendations aiming at achieving these goals.
