هدفت الدراسة إلى التعرف على العلاقة بين الذكاء الوجداني والرهاب الاجتماعي لدى تلاميذ المرحلة المتوسطة بمدينة جدة، كذلك التعرف على الفروق في مستوى الذكاء الوجداني والرهاب الاجتماعي لدي عينة الدراسة والتي تعزى لمتغير الصف الدراسي، وقد استخدمت الدراسة المنهج الوصفي الارتباطي، وتكونت عينة الدراسة من(210) تلميذا من تلاميذ المرحلة المتوسطة، وتم تطبيق مقياس الذكاء الوجداني لأبو العلا(2004) ومقياس الرهاب الاجتماعي من إعداد رولين ووي عام 1994 وترجمه إلى العربية مجدي الدسوقي عام 2004. وتوصلت نتائج الدراسة إلى وجود علاقة ارتباطية سالبة دالة بين الذكاء الوجداني والرهاب الاجتماعي لدى عينة الدراسة، وتوصلت الدراسة كذلك إلى عدم وجود فروق دالة في مستوى الذكاء الوجداني والرهاب الاجتماعي تعزى للصف الدراسي. وقد أوصت الدراسة بإعداد برامج تدريبية لتنمية الذكاء الوجداني لدى تلاميذ المرحلة المتوسطة ولدى المراهقين بشكل عام، كذلك اقترحت الدراسة إجراء دراسة تجريبية بعنوان فعالية برنامج إرشادي لتنمية الذكاء الوجداني وأثره على مرتفعي الرهاب الاجتماعي لدى تلاميذ المرحلة المتوسطة
This study aims to identify the relationship between emotional intelligence and social phobia among students of Intermediate school at Jeddah, in addition to that study aims to identify the differences in emotional intelligence and social phobia level among studied sample. These differences attributed to the school grade variable .The descriptive Correlative method has been used in this study . the study sample consisted of (210 ) Intermediate school students, Abulola's scale of emotional intelligence applied (2004), and social phobia Scale for Rollin and Woee (1994) which translated into Arabic by Magdi ElDesoki in 2004 . The results found out that there is a negative correlative relationship between emotional intelligence and social phobia among study sample, the study also resulted that there is no significant differences in the level of emotional intelligence and social phobia attributed to school grade . The study recommends that Teacher of Educational Psychology prepare of training programs to the develop emotional intelligence among students of Intermediate schools and adolescents in general, as well as the study suggests a pilot study entitled with: Effective Mentoring program to develop the emotional intelligence and its impact on Intermediate school students with high social phobia
