لا شك أن هدف كل مسيحي هو معرفة الله، أي معرفة السعادة التي لا تضاهيها سعادة أخرى. لذا كان من الطبيعي أن تكون هناك عدة تساؤلات حول كيفية هذه المعرفة. لذلك جاء موضوع بحثنا بعنوان "دور الشك في المعرفة عند أوغسطين"، حيث يتمحور هذا البحث حول إشكالية معالجة أوغسطين لمسألة اليقين، وهل يمكن بلوغ اليقين أم أن ذلك مثار للشك؟ وإذا كان ذلك ممكنا فما هو المنهج الذي اتبعه أوغسطين لكي يصل إلى مبتغاه؟ وهذا ما رأيناه من خلال رصد أهم مراحل الشك في مسار تكونه الفكري وبحثه عن الحقيقة. حيث تعد الحقيقة قيمة عليا يحاول أوغسطين الوصول إليها ليصل إلى اليقين. ومن خلال هذه المراحل وجد نفسه أمام العقيدة المسيحية التي أهتدى إليها والتي كانت بمثابة المدخل إلى فكره وتأسيسه للمعرفة اليقينية والذي جاء من خلال رده على الأكاديميين ووصوله إلى إمكانية وجود معرفة يقينية، وتناوله لنظرية الإشراق وقيمة الحدس في بناء المعرفة عنده.
No doubt that the goal of every Christian to know God, any knowledge of happiness that is not matched by other's happiness. So it was only natural that there will be many questions about how this knowledge, so we searched topic came entitled '' the role of Doubt in knowledge at Augustine", where this research focused on the issue of handling problematic Augustine certainty, can achieve certainty or is it a matter for doubt? And if possible what is the Method that follow -Augustine to reach its goals? And that's what we saw through the monitoring of the most important stages of doubt in the course of its intellectual formation and its search for truth. Where the truth-value of high Augustin is tries to reach up to a certainty. Through these stages found him in front of Christian doctrine that guided them and which served as the entrance to the idea and its foundation of knowledge and certainty, which came through his response to academics and access to the possibility of knowing the certainty, and dealt with the theory of illumination and the value of intuition in building knowledge.
