Since taking over in January 2017, US President Donald Trump and the administration team, led by his advisor and son-in-law Jared Kushner, have been working on a comprehensive peace plan to end the Arab-Israeli conflict. What is now called the Deal of the Century consists of two components. The first is political, loaded with blatant alignment with Israel. The second, which is economic, was announced in Manama to about 39 countries from around the globe, but notably missing international players like Russia and China. During the conference, Kushner presented a development plan for the West Bank and Gaza Strip. In general terms, the ten-year project states that achieving economic welfare for the Palestinians and neighboring Arab countries would lead to significant progress towards stability in the Palestinian and Arab societies. As a result, a settlement is very likely to succeed in the long run. There is a great deal of argument over the future, outcomes, participants and applicability of the proposal. For instance, the Palestinians and Arab peoples are against the plan, and some Arab countries are not enthusiastic, like Jordan and Egypt. However, the US Administration is not expected to abandon the idea but to keep delaying the announcement of the political part, while boosting the chances for the success of the economic component. In fact, it may modify the political part to raise the opportunities for achievement on the ground, taking into consideration the Israeli election results.
