المستخلص: The development of the educational system has become of great importance in the light of the changes taking place in our time in an effort to keep pace with scientific, industrial and technological development to find an opportunity to prove oneself and the ability to compete locally and internationally. The university teacher is one of the most important pillars of the educational process, and no development can bear fruit if the role of the teacher is ignored by choice, preparation, training, and assessment. In light of the requirements of the quality of university performance and the rules of control on higher education, attention to developing the skills of university teachers has become one of the main pillars, which in turn lead to raise the efficiency of the university graduate and prepare him for the labor market and keep abreast of the developments of the times.
In order to perform his important and sensitive role efficiently and competently, the teacher must have sufficient educational abilities and competencies to be the main channel of communication in the educational process. The research is particularly exposed to the teaching staff in the field of industrial design - Faculty of Applied Arts and to the skills and considerations that must be met in the teaching staff based on the correlation of these requirements to the requirements of the program of the general design of industrial products and the primary stages it contains which in turn aims to raise the specialization of industrial design, improve the level of university education and prepare human forces equipped with specific skills and specifications that lead to the development of society in general and industrial society in particular.

اصبح لتطوير المنظومة التعليمية أهمية كبيرة في ظل التغيرات الحادثة التي يشهدها عصرنا الحالي في محاولة لمسايرة التطور العلمي والصناعي والتكنولوجي لإيجاد فرصة لإثبات الذات والقدرة علي المنافسة المحلية والدولية، ويعد المعلم الجامعي احد أهم أركان العملية التعليمية، ولا يمكن لأي تطوير أن يؤتي ثماره إذا أغفل دور المعلم اختياراً وإعداداً وتدريباً وتقويماً. وفي ظل متطلبات جودة الأداء الجامعي وقواعد الرقابة علي التعليم العالي اصبح الاهتمام بتنمية مهارات القائمين بالتدريس الجامعي احد الركائز الأساسية والتي تؤدي بدورها إلى رفع كفاءة الخريج الجامعي وتأهيله لسوق العمل ومواكبة تطورات العصر.
ولكي يقوم المعلم بدوره المهم والحساس بكفاءة واقتدار، لابد أن يتمتع بقدر كاف من القدرات والكفايات التعليمية تؤهله ليكون قناة الاتصال الرئيسية في العملية التعليمية. ويتعرض البحث بصفة خاصة إلى القائمين بالتدريس في تخصص التصميم الصناعي – كلية الفنون التطبيقية وإلى المهارات والاعتبارات الواجب توافرها في القائم بالتدريس بناء علي ارتباط هذه المتطلبات بمتطلبات برنامج التصميم العام للمنتجات الصناعية وما يحتويه من مراحل أساسية مما يؤدي بدوره إلى الارتقاء بتخصص التصميم الصناعي وتحسين مستوي التعليم الجامعي وإعداد قوي بشرية مزودة بمهارات ومواصفات معينة تؤدي إلى تطوير المجتمع بصفة عامة والمجتمع الصناعي بصفة خاصة.
