المستخلص: The current paper is an analysis of Donald Trump’s Inaugural Speech using the pragma-stylistic approach of linguistic acts that is used in his language. He is elected democratically as the president of the United States of America in January 2017. The study focuses on the pragmatic functions of speech acts in terms of locution, illocutionary and per locutionary acts of Trump’s Inaugural Speech. It is, therefore, part of the study to reveal which of the speech acts are used more frequently and more prominent. The data are taken from the Inaugural Speech of Trump and investigated relying on the speech act theory of (Austin, 1962)Austin (1962) and (Searle, 1969)Searle (1969). Twenty-five (25) sentence are extracted from the speech text, from which fifty (50) speech acts are derived (indirect and direct illocutionary acts). The results revealed that the relative frequency percentages for the Inaugural Speech of Trump are: assertive-64%, commissive-52%, verdicative-32%, declarative-24%, direcative-20% and expressive 8%. These findings show that Trump depends so much on the sentences that employed assertive acts more than any other speech acts. Hence, the speech act analysis helps in understanding the messages in the chosen speech.
