|f From the very beginning, the man has sought to find a way to express his life requirements to communicate with the structures of his own kind and environment, even if these means differ from one environment to another or from one time to another. Its produced result was access to a language that was at times written, readable, denoting, kinesthetic or pictorial. Arabic calligraphy is one of the most prominent manifestations of artistic genius among Arabs. The Muslim artist emphasized the importance of the aesthetic presence of the Holy Word in holy places. Among the most famous fonts are Kufi, Thuluth, Ruq'ah, Farsi, Diwani, and the branches of these fonts. Although Arabic calligraphy played a major role in spreading Arab and Islamic culture, which lasted for several centuries, with the decline of fonts and the difficulty of reading them, words lose their meaning and with them the value and civilization of the Arabs. In light of the civilizational regression that the Arab world has witnessed for many years, it is necessary to preserve the Arabic calligraphy as one of the cultural streams, representing an important basis for preserving the nation's culture, identity, and great heritage. Therefore, the researcher considered that it is a national duty for her to present typographic designs for contemporary wall hangings of Arabic calligraphy to contribute to the return of Arab civilization and to highlight the aesthetic and plastic values of Arabic calligraphy. The problem of the study can be summarized in the following question: To what extent can Arabic calligraphy be used as a formative value in creating contemporary typographic designs for wall hangings that suit the requirements of this era and contribute to preserving our heritage and cultural identity. The researcher followed the descriptive analytical approach to characterize and analyze the typographic designs of the invented wall hangings. Through the design applications of the Arabic calligraphy elements of letters and words, the arbitrators emphasized the availability of aesthetic and plastic values, and this appears in the rhythm, balance, consistency, and dynamism of the elements of these designs, which numbered twenty. The results proved that Arabic calligraphy has creative and aesthetic potentials in design formations and the suitability of innovative typographic designs from Arabic calligraphy as wall hangings.
