Crisis management conducted by the decision makers could be infertile, and the dangers of war might become increasingly inevitable. The Cuban, second Gulf crisis, Afghan, and Iraqi crises marked the situation and the context in which the outbreak of war might have been avoided. The study investigated the intensity of the crises and the effectiveness of crisis management throughout history. The study examined the feasibility of lessening the impact of crises rendered by conflicts, threats or epidemics and the methods that aggravate or alleviate the severity of crises .More importantly, the present study explored the extent of the efficacy of the role played by the United Nations, the regional organizations and the crisis management missions in managing crises. The findings of the study were reported and discussed in the light of the analysis and observations of the historical events and facts related to managing crises. |
