المستخلص: الغزل في الآداب كلها هو حديث الهوى والحب، وتصوير عواطف الرجل ومشاعره نحو المرأة، وقد احتل الغزل في الأدب الجاهلي مكانا ظاهرا، وكان حظه فيه عظيما، وقال فيه جميع الشعراء من اشتهر منهم ومن لم يشتهر، ولقد أرجع ابن قتيبة شيوع الغزل والتشبيب في الشعر الجاهلي إلى أسباب نفسية وفطرية عند الشاعر والمتلقي، وأرجع الدكتور جواد علي الاهتمام بالمرأة في الشعر الجاهلي والتغزل فيها إلى عوامل بيئية وجغرافية وحياتية، ولقد نظر كثير من الباحثين إلى الغزل الجاهلي باعتباره تجربة خاصة تعبر عن ذاتية الشاعر أكثر من الأغراض الشعرية الأخرى، التي تعبر عن جماعية الشعور الذي فرضته قبلية المجتمع، غير أن هذه الروية تكاد تكون ظالمة لواقع الحياة وطبيعتها في ذلك العصر، وتجعل من مكانة المرأة وأثرها مجرد شكل شعري خاص ارتبط بذات ووجدان الشاعر فحسب. لقد كان الحب والعشق زادا للشاعر الجاهلي، ولا يجب أن ننخدع بما يظهره من زهد ألم به لعوارض الشيخوخة أو كبر السن، فقد رأي الشاعر الجاهلي في هذا الحب إشباعا لوجدانه المفتقر للحنان والرحمة من حوله، ووجد فيه متعة جسدية وروحية افتقدها في سائر مناحي الحياة الأخرى في عصره. لقد رأى الشاعر الجاهلي في الحب وفي امتلاكه للمرأة ملاذا لروحه المنهكة وأمانا لوجدانه المكدود، ورأى أنه بهذا الحب وبهذه المرأة المعشوقة يتحقق له الارتواء من النشوة والمتعة الجسدية والروحية، واعتقد أن بها قوة سحرية طقوسية خيرة تؤثر في الروح والجسد، ولعل أكبر دليل على ذلك أنهم أطلقوا على أهم ألهتهم التي عبدوها أسماء أنثوية كاللات والعزى ومناة. فرأي في المرأة تميمة النجاة التي تقيه وتمنحه السعادة والبهجة، واحتلت المرأة بمفاتنها الجسدية مكانا كبيرا في حياة الشاعر الجاهلي وفي إبداعه الشعري بشكل عام حيث رأى في مفاتنها طريقه إلى الارتواء من اللذة والامتلاء بالنشوة فبالغ في تصوير تلك المفاتن وغالى في وصف هذه التفاصيل الجسدية.

He saw in the woman the amulet of salvation that saves him and gives him happiness and joy, and women with their physical charms occupied a great place in the life of the ignorant poet and in his poetic creativity in general, where he saw in her charms the way to quench pleasure and full of ecstasy, he exaggerated the portrayal of these beauties and often described these physical details.
