هدفت الدراسة إلى بيان أثر إنتاج البترول في تحسين المستوى المعيشي للفرد، ومدى مساهمة عائدات البترول في تحسين الخدمات الاجتماعية. اتبعت الدراسة المنهج الاستقرائي والاستدلالي في علميات التحليل حيث قام الباحث بإجراء مسح ميداني غطى 100 أسرة على مستوى منطقة الدراسة، استخدمت عينة عشوائية متعددة المراحل غطت خمس وحدات إدارية مغطية بذلك كل أراضي محلية السلام. نتائج هذه الدراسة التي أجريت توضح أن أموال تعويضات البترول التي تدفع للمواطن مقابل الأرض قد أدت إلى زيادة متوسط دخل الفرد وتحسين مستواه المعيشي، بجانب أن انتقال المزارعين والرعاة للعمل في شركات البترول قد ساهم في تدهور النشاط الزراعي والرعوي، كما أن الشركات العاملة في مجال إنتاج البترول لا تراعي لسلامة المواطن والثروة الحيوانية من أضرار النشاط البترولي، بجانب عدم استثمار الحكومة المحلية لعائدات البترول في تطوير البنية التحتية والخدمات الاجتماعية. وأوصت الدراسة بضرورة الاهتمام بتطوير النشاط الزراعي والحيواني بالمنطقة من أجل تجنب خطر الاعتماد على مورد واحد غير متجدد وهو البترول الذي يتعرض لتذبذب الأسعار والضغوطات السياسية من وقت لآخر، وعلى الحكومة المحلية ترشيد الصرف والإنفاق من أمول البترول للتنمية وتوجيهها إلى مشاريع تنموية تخدم مواطن المنطقة، على الدولة والحكومة المحلية تشديد الرقابة على شركات البترول من أجل المحافظة على سلامة الإنسان وصحة الحيوان وتقليل آثار التلوث البيئي.
This study examined the economic and social impact of the production of oil in West Kordofan State, Acase study Peace Locality during, the problem of this study represented knowing the economic and social impact of the oil production in West Kordofan state which is considered as one of the most states that produce oil in Sudan, especially Peace Locality (the headquarters of the state) and the problem has been formulated in a number of questions about the level of improvement in social services ,traditional farming ,herding and trade and the average per capita income. The study aimed to demonstrate the impact of oil production in improving the quality of life, and the extent of the contribution of oil revenues to the improvement of social services, the study was conshucted on several assumptions about the economic and social impact of oil production in the region. It followed several curricula for scientific research involving the statistical approach, inductive, descriptive and analytical, deductive, historical, and regional approaches, and itused various tools to gather information from the primary sources (research community) including the observation, interview and questionnaire where the form was designed to include a sample of 100 single containing closed questions and open alike. The most important findings of the study in the petroleum compensation paid to the citizen in exchange for land funds have led to the increase in the average per capita income and improve their standard of living, along with the movement of farmers and herdsmen to work in the oil companies contributes in the deterioration of the agricultural and pastoral activity, also operating in the area of corporate oil production does not take into account the safety of the citizen and livestock damage from the petroleum activity, beside the local government failure to invest oil revenue in infrastructure and social services development.
