المستخلص: As today’s economy can no longer be just equated with a simple mix of traditional factors of production, but rather that of what one refers to as “Green Economy”, the objective of this study is mainly to portray the Arab perspective of the sustainability aspect of development processes at large. If notions such as the conservation of the environment, the rational exploitation of resources, social justice, etc., different in their form, they however all tend to aim at one single symbolic entity: the one which precisely aspires to promoting the idea of development in its sustainability dimension commonly referred to as “Sustainable Development”. In order to get well acquainted with this subject, it becomes essential to take into account the necessary methodology capable of precisely creating harmony among all of these elements. The study case of the Algerian environment as an Arab study case sample has been purposely used in that perspective so as to analyze and measure the extent to which a national strategy is a sustainable one. Among the revealed results, and as far as the Algerian development strategy is directly concerned, the most important one is by no means that concerning a certain lack of good planning. The need to applying the principles and mechanisms of good governance within the framework of economic and social development respectful of environmental standards at large appears for the time being to be the most important goal and the most important challenge of all facing the majority of Arab countries.

تهدف هذه الدراسة إلى تصوير النظرة العربية تجاه استدامة العمليات التنموية، فاقتصاد اليوم لم يعد مجرد مزيج من عوامل الإنتاج التقليدية بل تجاوز ذلك إلى ما أطلق عليه "الاقتصاد الأخضر". الحفاظ على البيئة، الاستغلال العقلاني للموارد والعدالة الاجتماعية مصطلحات وإن اختلفت في شكلها إلا أنها تنتمي لحقل دلالي واحد يصبو إلى الارتقاء بمفهوم التنمية في ظل الاستدامة أو ما يعرف بالتنمية المستدامة. ولأجل الإحاطة بهذا الموضوع تم الاعتماد على منهج دراسة الحالة لما يحمله من وصف وتحليل قادر على خلق الانسجام بين جل العناصر وباعتباره المنهج الأمثل الذي يتماشى وطبيعة البحث خاصة عند الحديث عن البيئة الجزائرية كعينة عربية يراد من خلالها تحليل حيثيات الاستراتيجية الوطنية في مجال الاستدامة، حيث تم التوصل إلى جملة من النتائج مفادها افتقار المخططات التنموية الجزائرية إلى التسيير الجيد وحاجتها الملحة لتطبيق آلية الحكم الراشد في إطار التنمية الاقتصادية والاجتماعية التي تحترم المعايير البيئية.
