This research explores the development of Management Information Systems (SIG) within Small and Medium-sized Enterprises (SMEs) in the Building and Public Works (BTP) sector. The study addresses the research problem of identifying the determinants of SIG in these companies, posing research questions about their existence, conditions for improvement, effectiveness, and the role of Information and Communication Technologies (NTIC). Six hypotheses were formulated concerning the impact of accounting information, production planning, commercial policy, human resources, purchasing planning, and NTIC on SIG. Data was collected through a questionnaire administered to 12 SMEs in the BTP sector in the Marrakech region. Findings indicate that SIG primarily relies on accounting/financial functions and production (projects) functions, with limited use of NTIC. Procedures are informal and not rigorous, rendering the system insufficient for decision-making. Companies were classified into three groups based on their SIG development level: developed, underdeveloped, and intermediate. The study highlights the importance of adapting to globalization through NTIC adoption for competitiveness and recommends investment in technological infrastructure and employee training.
