|a حظي موضوع حوكمة الجامعات في الآونة الأخيرة باهتمام العديد من الهيئات والمختصين الذين تطرقوا إلى أهمية حوكمة مؤسسات التعليم العالي ودورها في الرفع من أدائها وفي جودة مخرجاتها، وفي هذا الإطار أصبح توجه الجامعات الكبرى في الدول المتطورة نحو التركيز على تفويض المزيد من الصلاحيات لصنع القرار، حيث ساهم التطبيق السليم لمبادئ الحوكمة بالجامعات في تعظيم قيمتها وزاد من قدراتها التنافسية، ووضعها الإقليمي والدولي (التصنيف العالمي)، مما انعكس بشكل إيجابي على أدائها الأكاديمي وجودة مخرجاتها. وقد توصل البحث إلى مجموعة من النتائج أهمها أن الجامعات العريقة في الدول المتقدمة تتمتع بمجال واسع من الاستقلالية الأكاديمية والإدارية والمالية، كما تلتزم هذه الجامعات بقواعد الشفافية والمحاسبة، وتخضع للمساءلة من الجهات المختصة، فضلا عن اعتمادها على نظام مؤسساتي واضح، كما يلاحظ أن هناك تطبيق صارم لمبادئ الحوكمة في الجامعات التي تحتل مراتب متقدمة في التصنيف العالمي، من خلال سياقها العام ورسالتها وأهدافها، وما تؤكد عليه من مشاركة كل الأطراف أصحاب المصلحة بما فيهم الطلبة في اتخاذ القرار.

|b University governance has recently attracted the interest of many researchers and specialists who addressed the importance of the governance in higher education institutions and their role in enhancing the performance and the quality of their outputs. In this context, the orientation of major universities in developed countries has become a focus on delegating more powers to decision-making, which the right application of the principles of governance in universities has contributed to maximizing their value and increasing their competitiveness, then their regional and international status (the global classification) which reflected positively on their academic performance and the quality of their outputs. The most important results of this research are that the prestigious universities in developed countries enjoy a wide range of academic, administrative and financial autonomy, which are accountable to the competent authorities. Moreover its reliance on a clear institutional system, It is also noted that there is strict application of the principles of governance in universities that occupy high rankings in the global rankings through their general context, mission and objectives, as well as the participation of all stakeholders, including students, in decision-making.
