The intelligence concept is regarded as one of the concepts that have drawn the most interest of psychologists since it emergence at the beginning of the past century. Although it is an ancient topic, the developments made in this field of understanding and application from time to time have contributed to the increase and corroboration of this psychological characteristic in a much better way. Some studies have indicated (Foqiyah Mohammed Radhi, 2001), (Fannin & Bra bard, 2002) (Parker, 2002) and (Mayer, 2002) that there is a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and academic achievement in students. It also indicated that there differences in achievement between students with high levels of emotional intelligence and students with low levels of emotional intelligence. Since these studies were conducted on students with advanced ages (university students), these studies were not conducted on adolescent students in the Arab World (as far as the researcher is concerned). There for, the researcher will focus on secondary school students. So, The main goals of the syudy are: 1- To help those who work in the field of education and psychological guidance to better understand the nature of adolescence and the affecting factors. 2- To contribute to rebalance the interest between the positive and negative psychological concepts where the term "psychology" has been wrongly linked to psychiatric diseases and patients, and that it has nothing to do with mentally health people. Since the concept of emotional intelligence represents a positive concept, one of the objectives of this study is to shed light on one of the branches of positive psychology. 3- To extend help to educational decision makers in the preparation of school curricula and courses.
