هدف البحث إلى التعرف على واقع الخدمات المقدمة للطلاب ذوي الإعاقة في جامعة الكويت وما متطلبات تطوير هذه الخدمات، بقصد تلافي مشكلة ضعف الخدمات التي تؤدي إلى وجود صعوبات ومعوقات سواء كانت أكاديمية أو إدارية أم اجتماعية أم نفسية، وتوصل البحث إلى مجموعة من التوصيات أهمها: استخدام تكنولوجيا التعليم الحديثة للطلاب ذوي الإعاقة، وتوافر كوادر ذات كفاءة عالية واعية باستراتيجية خدمات الطلبة وأهدافها، وسبل تنفيذها، وتعديل المناهج والاستراتيجيات الموجودة وذلك بإعادة تخطيطها بما يوافق مع قدرات ومتطلبات الطلاب ذوي الإعاقة، والحرص على أن تكون مباني ومنشآت ومرافق الجامعة مهيأة ومناسبة للطلبة ذوي الإعاقة وفيها مستوي عال من الأمان لهم، وضرورة متابعة أحداث ما توصلت إليه التكنولوجيا والتقدم العلمي والبحوث والدراسات العلمية من نتائج واختراعات وابتكارات في الوسائل التعليمية ومساعدات التدريب والأجهزة التعويضية، والأساليب الحديثة في طرق ومناهج التدريس، واستغلالها في تطوير الخدمات المقدمة لطلبة الجامعة من ذوي الإعاقة.
