The objective of this dissertation is to evaluate the effectiveness of the PMS applied in GARMCO as it is used as a tool to evaluate and improve their employees’ performance level, and the overall productivity of the company. The research methods are conducted through two main instruments which are personal interview to obtain the opinion of the management about the performance management system implemented in GARMCO, and questionnaires distributed to the employees to understand their perception about the performance management system. This paper concludes that the performance management system currently applied in GARMCO can be improved to better achieve the desired goals as the findings of our research showed that weaknesses do exist, and that there is an opportunity to enhance the PMS system. Through this study, areas of improvement have been identified for the purpose of providing managerial recommendations aiming to achieve better results. This study was conducted in Gulf Aluminium Rolling Mill B.S.C. ©- GARMCO and therefore, the results are applicable and solely reflecting the performance evaluation practices in GARMCO. Moreover, time limitation and the sensitivity of the subject to some of the organizations in the industry, the researchers carried out the research in only one organization. This thesis is unique in its findings, as it explores in-depth the effectiveness of the performance management system currently applied in GARMCO.
