تأكد بهذا البحث أمران؛ أولهما: وجود مثاقفة بلاغية بين العرب والعجم في وقت مبكر من تاريخ هذا العلم عند العرب، وأنها كانت شاملة متعددة المسارات نظرياً وتطبيقياً، وثانيهما: وجود (بلاغة عربية مقارنة)، ممتدة الجذور عند العرب في عصور التأليف المتقدمة، وأن المؤلفين كانوا على وعي بشروط المقارنة وضوابط مصداقيتها؛ مع أنه لم يتحقق لأكثرهم- ممن ورد ذكره في هذا البحث- ما اشترطوه للمقارنة العادلة من شروط، بالصورة المرضي عنها في نظرهم، وفي نظرنا أيضاً. ولقد أيد البحث فكرة تأثر البلاغة العربية بالبلاغات السابقة عليها تأثراً بيناً، لكن ليس على بقدر ما وصفه الدكتور طه حسين بأنه كان تعليماً للعرب كيفية البلاغة!، وإنما هو بقدر تعليمهم كيفية البحث في البلاغة ووضع قواعدها، واستنباط أحكامها.. وأن هذا التعليم أيضاً لم يكن إلا كالشرارة التي تشعل الضوء، حيث بعدها استقل العرب ببلاغتهم وقواعدهم وشواهدهم؛ على أنه لم يكن استقلالاً محموداً على كل حال، إذ لو استمر تأثرهم وتأثيرهم لربما كانت حال بلاغة القدماء أفضل وأتم مما وصلتنا، وما من عيب في الاتصال العلمي بين شعوب الأرض، فالعلم حق مشاع للإنسانية تتوالده وتتوارثه. كما أن هذا البحث أثبت حقيقة تأثير العربية في البلاغات الأخرى تأثيراً قوياً، امتد من أول أعجمي قرأ القرآن وعرفه، مرورا بتأثير المؤلفات البلاغية العربية في المؤلفين الفرس، ثم في الأوربيين، وغيرهم حتى وقتنا الحاضر.
