سعت الدراسة الحالية إلى رصد أهم الاتجاهات الحديثة في مجالي تكنولوجيا التعليم والمعلومات، وسبل توظيفهما في المكتبات الرقمية، وقد وضعت مقدمة توضح أهمية الدراسة وأهدافها ومنهجية تناول متغيراتها، كما اشتملت الدراسة على أربعة أقسام تمثل صلبها الأساسي تناول القسم الأول الإطار المفاهيمي للدراسة، والذي تم التعرض فيه للتعريفات المختلفة لمفاهيم الدراسة وتحليلها وبيان خصائصها والنماذج الممثلة لها، والعلاقة بينها، وتناول الجزء الثاني الاتجاهات الحديثة في مجال تكنولوجيا التعليم وسبل توظيفها في مجال المكتبة الرقمية، موضحا تناول الدراسات والأبحاث لهذه الاتجاهات وتوظيفها في مجال المكتبات الرقمية، وتناول الجزء الثالث الاتجاهات الحديثة في مجال تكنولوجيا المعلومات، وسبل توظيفها لتطوير المكتبة الرقمية، والدراسات التي تناولت ذلك، واشتمل الجزء الأخير على الاستنتاجات النهائية للدراسة وتوصياتها، ومقترحاتها المستقبلية، والتي كان من أهمها اتخاذ خطوات سريعة ومتنامية للبدء في تنفيذ مشروع المكتبة الرقمية بجامعة الأزهر، الأمر الذي يتطلب تطوير برامج أقسام المكتبات والمعلومات وتكنولوجيا التعليم؛ لإعداد الدارسين وتأهيلهم بما يواكب التحدي الموجود في بيئة العمل بالمكتبات الرقمية، وتأكيدا على المبدأ أعد تصورا مقترحا لإنشاء مكتبة رقمية بجامعة الأزهر يعد ترجمة لاستنتاجات الدراسة وتوصياتها.
The purpose of this review article is to present a synthesis of research on the state-of- the-art trends in the field of instructional and information technology and how to put such knowledge into action in the field of digital libraries. In doing so, the researcher divided the article into four main sections. The first section was devoted to presenting the conceptual framework in which the different definitions of the concerned concepts, their analysis and characteristics were addressed. The second section was assigned to highlighting the-state-of-the-art trends in instructional technology and the different ways to benefit from them in digital libraries. It also reviews the several studies undertaken to empirically explore the impact of such trends on variables related to digital libraries. Whereas the third section demonstrated the state-of-the-art trends in the field of the information technology and how to utilize them in developing digital libraries, the fourth section underscored the conclusions, recommendations, and future suggestions. Among the most important conclusions was to immediately take firm steps towards the initiation of a digital library project at Al-Azhar University. Such a project necessitates developing the academic programs of libraries, information, and instructional technology departments to empower their graduates with the competencies needed to cope with the challenges encountered in the digital libraries environments. The review concludes with a tangible proposed framework for developing a digital library at Al- Azhar University based on information obtained from the review.
