In the Italian language, the interpretation of the pronoun represents a fairly complex problem for its various functions which depend on the syntactic function it performs within the sentence. In this work, the properties of each form of "itself" (impersonal, passive or reflective) are separately exposed and the differences between them are highlighted, in order to examine the problems related to their translation into Arabic. These have been widely discussed in Italian, while, in Arabic, the terms "reflective" and "impersonal" do not exist in the great books of Arabic linguistics and the names are inherited from the grammar of foreign languages. The differences between the various constructions of "itself" and the translation problems faced are illustrated by various examples taken from the work "If this is a man" by Primo Levi and its translation in Arabic "إذا كان هذا إنسانًا" by Emad El-Baghdady.
