المستخلص: Using new technology in learning of extreme importance due to its effective role in developing and enriching learning process. There are many music programmes - especially Sibelius - that can be used in teaching music syllabus such as teaching music tasting. The researcher will search the ways of using Sibelius in teaching music tasting. Many students depend on the teacher as a result of: lacking new technology in teaching, using traditional ways that may fail fulfilling the goals of teaching and ignoring individual differences. Nowdays, threre is a great development in music programmes, however; they are still not used properly to accomplish their role in teaching, hence the problem of the research. searching for new methods of teaching and learning music , the researcher makes use of one of the most professional programmes in teaching music which is sibelius. Sibelius is an audio - visual method which can contribute to music recording and listening of all musical compositions that the students learn. The researcher uses sibelius in teaching musical tasting. she shows the role of computer and the role of audio - visual technology in learning music. she surveys the different forms of music programmes and categorizes them. Classifying the various kinds of programmes, the researcher will show the potentials of sibelius , will define music taste; it's stages, it's sections, types, goals, ways of teaching, and the importance of using Sibelius in teaching music tasting .
