المستخلص: The present study aimed at evaluating to what extent the members of the Faculty of Basic Education in Kuwait apply effective university teaching practices from the perspectives of a sample of male and female students, in addition to investigating the differences in students' estimates of effective teaching practices according to the variables of gender, specialization, and academic level. In order to achieve these aims, the descriptive approach utilizing surveying questionnaire has been employed on a sample consisting of 324 male and female students at the Faculty of Basic Education in Kuwait. Data collection was carried out by means of a questionnaire comprising the following dimensions: planning and organization of the syllabus, explaining the instructional content, the application of teaching strategies, interaction with the students and management of the classroom, employing materials, sources, instruments and educational techniques, and assessment and evaluation. The validity of the questionnaire has been verified using content validity method, in addition to verifying the internal consistency of the questionnaire. The reliability has been verified by means of Alpha Cronbach's coefficient. Data analysis has been carried out using means, standard deviations, “T” test for two independent samples, and unidirectional analysis of variance. The results of the study revealed that the extent of applying the members of Faculty of Basic Education in Kuwait for effective university teaching practices was moderate. In parallel, the dimensions of planning and organization of the syllabus, explaining the instructional content, the application of teaching strategies, and interaction with the students and management of the classroom were also moderate, while the degrees of employing materials, sources, instruments and educational techniques, and assessment and evaluation were low. Moreover, the results indicated that there was no significant difference between the participants’ responses attributed to the variables of gender, specialization, or academic level. In light of the results reached, the study suggested practical recommendations and suggestions for future research.

هدف البحث إلى تقويم درجة تطبيق أعضاء هيئة التدريس بكلية التربية الأساسية بدولة الكويت لممارسات التدريس الجامعي الفعال استنادا إلى آراء عينة من الطلاب والطالبات، فضلا عن الكشف عن مدى اختلاف تقديرات الطلاب لممارسات التدريس الفعال باختلاف متغيرات الجنس، والتخصص، والمستوى الدراسي. ولتحقيق هذه الأهداف، تم توظيف منهج البحث الوصفي عن طريق المسح بالاستبيان على عينة مؤلفة من (324) طالب وطالبة بكلية التربية الأساسية بدولة الكويت. وقد تم جمع البيانات باستخدام استبيان مؤلف من الأبعاد التالية: تخطيط وتنظيم المقرر الدراسي، وشرح المحتوى التعليمي، وتطبيق استراتيجيات التدريس، والتفاعل مع الطلاب وإدارة قاعة الدراسة، وتوظيف المواد والمصادر والوسائل والتقنيات التعليمية، والتقييم والتقويم. وقد تم التحقق من صدق الاستبيان باستخدام طريقة الصدق الداخلي، كما تم التحقق من الاتساق الداخلي للاستبيان، وتم التحقق من الثبات باستخدام معامل ألفا كرونباخ. وتم استخدام المتوسطات والانحرافات المعيارية، واختبارا ت لعينين مستقلتين، وتحليل التباين أحادي الاتجاه لتحليل البيانات. وقد بينت نتائج البحث أن درجة تطبيق أعضاء هيئة التدريس بكلية التربية الأساسية لممارسات التدريس الفعال كانت "متوسطة". كما جاءت أبعاد تخطيط وتنظيم المقرر الدراسي، وشرح المحتوى التعليمي، وتطبيق استراتيجيات التدريس، والتفاعل مع الطلاب وإدارة قاعة الدراسة بدرجة متوسطة، بينما جاء بعدي وتوظيف المواد والمصادر والوسائل والتقنيات التعليمية، والتقييم والتقويم بدرجة ضعيفة. كما أبرزت النتائج عدم وجود فرق دال في استجابات المشاركين للبحث يعزى إلى متغيرات الجنس، والتخصص، والمستوى الدراسي. وفي ضوء هذه النتائج، تم تقديم عدد من التوصيات التطبيقية والبحوث المقترحة.
