The end of the author's life happens through disease or death, and Barth was no exception to this rule. He was distressed by the loss of his mother, the image of whom he immortalized. And beyond despair, the writer, in his memoir, wrote about the love that he carried for his own people. By expressing himself, talking about the absence of loved ones and missing them, he put himself on the path of the novel creation.
