المستخلص: In this article, we examine the different methods of translating French idiomatic expressions and their respective equivalents in Arabic. Since they are cited in some studies as types of difficulties, it was necessary to try to understand and explain what the main characteristics of these expressions is and why they may represent difficulties in translation. Actually, analyzing expressions, especially invariable ones, leads us always to examine the "norm" and "normalization", even "normative" in discourse. We will move after that to observe the problem that the form may engender to the translator. We shall end the study by a review of some opinions of translators regarding the translation of idiomatic expressions. Finally, our method will be exposed to structural, sociolinguistic and pragmatic points of view in order to transform the principles of precaution in the action in translation.

Dans cet article nous examinons les différentes méthodes de traduction d’expressions idiomatiques françaises et leurs équivalents respectifs en arabe. Dans la mesure où celles-ci sont citées dans certains travaux sur les types de difficultés, il s’agit de comprendre et d’expliciter les caractéristiques principales de ces expressions et les raisons pour lesquelles elles peuvent représenter des difficultés, voire induire en erreur. Du coup, entamer l’étude des expressions surtout celles figées aboutit toujours à examiner la notion de «norme» et de « normalisation », voire, «rendre normatif». Nous verrons ensuite le problème que la forme peut poser pour le traducteur. Nous terminerons notre article par un survol des opinions des traductologues vis-à-vis de la traduction des expressions idiomatiques. Enfin, notre méthode sera exposée à une mise en commun des points de vue structurels, sociolinguistiques et pragmatiques pour transformer les principes de précaution en principe d'action en traduction.
