المستخلص: سعى لفيف من الروائيين العرب بعدما تمكنوا من ناصية الفن الروائي إلى التخلص من عقدة الانبهار وتجاوز مرحلة الغواية الفنية والدهشة الجمالية إلى قطع وشائج النسب الوهمية مع الفن الروائي الغربي الذي يجسد ويترجم ثقافة وفكر المجتمع الغربي أكثر منه المجتمع العربي، ولذلك كان لزاما على الكتاب العرب البحث عن بديل لتلك الثقافة الدخيلة ومعاداة تقاليد الفن الروائي الغربي والالتزام بفن روائي يترجم الخصوصية القومية العربية وعمق الانتماء إلى المجتمع العربي. وقد مثل المكان الصحراوي بامتياز ذلك البديل المخلص الذي أراح الروائيين العرب من عناء اختيار المكان الروائي الذي يحمل ملامح عربية خالصة ويمتلك خصوصية الهوية، فوجدوا فيه مصدر إلهام لأفكارهم وتوجهاتهم ومرتعا خصبا لإنشاء التخييل الروائي، كما أن الروايات التي اتخذت فضاء الصحراء موضوعا لها قد أحرزت على تقدم فني كبير بوصفها روايات عربية خالصة شكلا ومضمونا، وهذا ما يصبو إليه الكاتب والمتلقي العربي على حد السواء.

Therefore, it was necessary for Arab writers to search for an alternative to this foreign culture and to antagonize the traditions of Western fictional art, and to carry out a fictional art that translates Arab national features and the depth of belonging to Arab society. The desert place represented par excellence that sincere alternative that relieved Arab novelists of the trouble of choosing a novelist place that bears purely Arab features and possesses the exclusive identity. They found in it a source of inspiration for their ideas and trends, and a fertile ground for creating fictional fantasy. The novels that have taken the desert space as their theme have made great artistic progress as they are purely Arab novels in form and content, and this is what the Arab writer and recipient alike aspires to.
