|a هدف البحث في شقه النظري إلى التعريف بماهية الملكية الفكرية والحقوق المترتبة عليها، وآليات حماية هذه الحقوق والحفاظ عليها في البيئة الرقمية، وذلك باستعراض أهم التشريعات والقوانين المتعلقة بهذا الأمر وأبرز المنظمات والهيئات الناشطة في هذا المجال على المستوى المحلي والدولي، هذا إلى جانب معرفة سبل وطرق إتاحة الكيانات الرقمية في المستودعات الرقمية للجامعات وكيفية حماية حقوق المؤلف والحقوق المجاورة في هذه المستودعات الرقمية. أما الشق التطبيقي تم التركيز فيه على عينة من المستودعات الرقمية في الجامعات السعودية ومدى التزامها بحماية حقوق الملكية الفكرية عند إتاحتها للكيانات الرقمية. وللإيفاء بمتطلبات البحث تم توظيف المنهج التاريخي والمنهج الوصفي بشقيه التحليل ودراسة الحالة، قد كانت الملاحظة المباشرة والمقابلة أدوات أساسية لجمع البيانات والمعلومات.

|b The aim of the research in the theoretical apartment is to define what intellectual property and its rights are, and the mechanisms to protect and preserve these rights in the digital environment, by reviewing the most important legislation and laws related to this matter and the most prominent organizations and bodies active in this field at the local and international level, in addition to knowing ways and means Making digital entities available in universities' digital repositories and how copyright and related rights are protected in these digital repositories. The applied aspect focused on a sample of digital repositories in Saudi universities and their commitment to protect intellectual property rights when they are made available to digital entities. To meet the requirements of the research, the historical and descriptive approaches were used to analyze and study the case. Direct observation and interview were essential tools for data and information collection.
