المستخلص: تسلم الإمام جعفر الصادق مقاليد الإمامة بعد وفاة والده الإمام محمد الباقر سنة ١١٤هـ، كان من الشخصيات الفذة والفريدة في عالم الفكر.
وكان الإمام جعفر الصادق عليه السلام وهو السادس من أئمة أهل البيت عليهم السلام الذي نذر نفسه لخدمة العلم، والدفاع عن العقيدة؛ ليقتدي به في طريق الله كل من يبحث عن الحقيقة.
وكان مما شهده عصر الإمام الصادق عليه السلام هو انتشار الفرق الإسلامية: كالمعتزلة والخوارج والزيدية والكيسانية، وكانت للإمام الصادق مع هذه الفرق مناظرات ووقفات كلامية كثيرة، استطاع من خلالها ايضاح ما التبس على الناس من مسائل العقيدة.
سار على نهج آبائه الأطهار في الدفاع عن العقيدة، ورد الشبهات، ومحاربة الأفكار الهدامة التي تبنتها الزناقة والملاحدة، مع قسوة المعناة التي أصيب بها، وما لقيه من شدة الخصومة والعداء والحرب من أهل البدع والأهواء، وطغاة عصره، وهو في ذلك قد شارك آباءه عليهم السلام في محنهم ومآسيهم.
ولا ريب أن التعريف بأئمة أهل البيت عليهم السلام وبيان فضلهم وعلمهم لهو بحد ذاته عمل جليل يستحق الاهتمام والعناية.
ومن هنا جاءت الدراسة في مبحثين تناول الأول سيرة الإمام الصادق عليه السلام، التعريف به، في حين تناول المبحث الثاني موقف الإمام من التيارات الفكرية التي شهدها عصره.


Imam Jaafar al-Sadiq took over the reins of the Imamat after the death of his father, Imam Muhammad al-Baqir, in the year 114 AH. He was one of the unrivaled and unique figures in the intellectual world.
And Imam Jaafar al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, was the sixth of the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, who pledged himself to serve knowledge and defend the faith; All who are looking for truth should follow him in the path of Allah.
Among the things witnessed in the era of Imam Al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, was the spread of Islamic sects: such as the Mu'tazila, Kharijites, Zaydis, and Kaysanis. Imam Al-Sadiq had many debates and verbal interactions with these groups, through which he was able to clarify the ambiguous part of the issues of faith to people.
He followed the approach of his pure fathers in defending the doctrine, answering suspicions, and fighting the destructive ideas adopted by heretics and atheists, with the hardships he suffered, and the intensity of rivalry, enmity, and war from the people of innovation and desire, and the tyrants of his time, and in this, he shared the misfortunes and plight of his fathers; peace be upon them.
There is no doubt, introducing the Imams of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and demonstrating their virtues and knowledge is in itself a worthy work that deserves attention and care.
Hence, the study is divided into two chapters. The first one dealt with the biography of the Imam al-Sadiq, peace be upon him, his introduction, while the second chapter dealt with the Imam's position on his time's intellectual movements.
