The machine translation is a translation made entirely by the computer. The speed comes first. An in-depth formulation and grammatical slip-ups are accepted if the foreign-language information is understood. This makes machine translation an alternative to non-translation and as an alternative to very short-lived; ephemeral content such of social media as well. Due to the variety of different source content, machine translation is not yet able to provide acceptable results for social online networks and communities. The translated texts are not always perfectly communicative. The language barriers and nesting of our highly socially expressed expressions, be it statements, which contain many elements of the spoken speech or elliptical structures, are identified as the main source for the unsuccessfulness. Yet, social media provide for a multilingual understanding that cannot be underestimated. In the following thesis, machine translation as an' examination medium for an online article titled "Arthritis - a Lie" is used to check the corresponding, text translated by Google. Translate on the basis of its equivalence or deviation to the original text and on the other hand to its text coherence or cohesion. Subsequently, the intelligibility rate is determined in each case on the basis of the coherent or equivalent transmission of the machine transmission system (MT system). How far the artificial intelligence contributes to this important research area for a successful, meaningful text transmission of not only controlled, well thought-out formulations, but also spontaneous, almost uncontrolled language is determined in the course of the paper.
