المستخلص: In this article, we try to show that the verb VOIR can have, beside its own use “perception by sight”, a use as a grammatical tool in the syntactic structure of the type SN0 + VOIR + Inf + SN1 / SN0 + VOIR + SN1 + Inf. This use makes it possible to place the complements of time and place in the position of syntactic subject. VOIR can then to be compared with the auxiliary être, auxiliary of the passive which makes it possible to put in the position of subject the complement of the direct transitive verb. VOIR will be submitted to various multilevel tests, syntactic and semantic, in order to be able to decide on its status as a semi-auxiliary of the diathetic verb construction.

Dans cet article, nous essayons de montrer que le verbe VOIR peut avoir, à côté de son emploi propre, « perception par la vue », un emploi d’outil-grammatical dans la structure syntaxique de type SN0 + VOIR + Inf + SN1 / SN0 + VOIR + SN1 + Inf. Cet emploi lui permet de mettre à la position de sujet syntaxique les circonstants de temps et de lieu. Il est alors à rapprocher de l’auxiliaire être, auxiliaire du passif qui permet de mettre à la position sujet le COD du verbe transitif direct. Nous allons soumettre VOIR aux différents tests relevant de plusieurs niveaux, syntaxique et sémantique, pour pouvoir trancher quant à son statut de semi-auxiliaire de périphrase verbale diathétique.
