Today, on the Tunisian coasts that stretch for nearly 1320 km longth are installed 41 ports and fishing shelters, that is, on average, one port in every 32 km. This important density is exhibited more on the eastern coast, located especially between Kelibia and Chebba (277 km longth). On this coastline, qualified among the most highly developed on the southern shore of the Mediterranean, we have identified 22 ports of different types of activities, which means, on average, one port in every 13 km. Except the commercial port of Sousse which was built in 1899, the the other ports have been built since the 1980s. Admittedly, this very remarkable increase in the number of ports on this fragile coast, led to a considerable disturbance in sediment circulation and consequently to very significant changes in the position of the coastline (Paskoff, 1998 ; Oueslati, 1993, 1999, 2004 et 2017 ; Bourgou, 1999, 2005 ; Brahim, 2001, 2017 ; Ben Haj, 2004 ; Samat, 2007 ; Bada, 2017 ; Minoubi et al., 2018). The impact of port works is also noticeable in the recent segmentation and more of the coast Kelibia-Chebba in new sedimentary units or coastal cells and also to very remarkable modifications in their beaches and forebeaches. With this type of work, the boundaries of the nearshore cells have thus shifted from the natural to the artificial state.
