المستخلص: Since the nature of the war, its aims and general principles have not pass any fundamental change in the course of history, so we hope that the study of weapons arma in "Aeneid" of Virgil : its types , how they are used and the Adjectives which associated with it, supply us by some concepts and methods that were followed in this regard, especially since the battle field is in the last six books of this epic are full of weapons, their types, and their epithets. those weapons were development of arms which made by different peoples in modern times, including guns, warships, missiles, and nuclear weapons. The weapons that the Romans used during the Republic and Empire eras were called res militaris Military or armatura military equipment, which is derived from the word arma, these weapons that have led to their military superiority and victory. Certainly , the invitation to bear arms means : the use of force in defense and attack. Although the Romans quoted most of their weapons from the Greeks, Virgil was not concerned with the separation of what was Greek or Roman weapons. So ,Virgil in the opening of his epic , mentions to the word arma associated by the word vir , which refers to Aeneas , the hero of his epic (1, 1): arma uirumque cano. Although there is no safety in war nulla salus bello (Aeneid 11, 362), we touch in “Aeneid” the exchange of peace and carrying arms. In most cases, we find that some people who defame arms arma, themselves are the ones who pray and plead for peace pacem, as happened with the Trojans (Aeneid 10, 80). In this context , we have to mention in this presentation that the anger ira is the primary motivation for carrying and using weapons, angry men revolt out of revenge and not out of ambition, so when anger possesses a person, he push him to convert everything in front of him and in his possession into weapon (Aeneid 7, 507 -508 ).
