المستخلص: إن الثقافة والإبداع الفكري والفني هما بمثابة الرصيد والركيزة لمواكبة طموحات هذا القرن. فقد شهدت الحركة الفنية والثقافية في مصر خلال السنوات الماضية أحداثا هامة في مختلف المجالات الإبداعية لتؤكد استمرار وتواصل دور مصر الحقيقي والحضاري عبر العصور. وكان من أبرزها "المعرض العام" عبر دوراته خلال 50 عاما من الإبداع والتي تعد شاهدا على مسيرة الحركة التشكيلية المصرية والتي تمثل نمو مستدام لكائن حي يحمل جينات حضارية من قبل انطلاق المعرض عام 1969 بعقود وازمان فهي إذا مسيرة ممتدة يلخصها ويرمز إليها على مدى السنين وسلسلة متدفقة من التحولات الفنية وحلقات مستمرة ومتنامية من الطرز والأساليب. ويعد المعرض العام في دورته الأربعين من أهم الأحداث التشكيلية للفن المصري وخاصه في مجال التصوير حيث أنه يأتي رافعا شعار "الأصالة والمعاصرة" ومعبرا عن نضوج تجارب ونتاج تجارب الفنانين وفلسفتهم. وذلك إنما يستحق التأمل والدراسة والتحليل وهذا البحث لأعمال نخبة مختارة من الفنانين المشاركين في مجال التصوير بهدف الوصول لمداخل الأصالة والمعاصرة وذلك إنما يفيد طلاب كلية التربية الفنية بمرحلها المختلفة. فالأصالة هي المعاصرة في مضمونها فهي ليست واقع إنما هي صفه اوسمه لكل عمل فني أو فكري يبرز فيه جانب الإبداع فالإنتاج الأصيل قد يكون قديما وقد يكون معاصر فالأصالة فوق ذلك لا تقدم أصولا فهي لم توجد من العدم بل هي في الغالب صياغة جديدة معبرة لجملة من العناصر أو الأصول المعروفة وعملية دمج تعطي كائنا أو بنية جديدتين وعملية الدمج هي عمليه معقدة تطبعها ذات الفنان وتميز إنتاجه الأصيل عن المقتبس.
